Dr. François Morin

Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. François Morin specialized in orthopedic surgery at Laval University from 1982 to 1986. He then specialized in hip and knee reconstruction surgery in Toronto in 1987. Since that time, he has been practicing at CHUL (Quebec City) and continued to develop his interest and passion for hip and knee pathologies. He has been in practice at the CIUSS-Université Laval since its founding.

Dr. Morin performs arthroscopy for meniscal tear and reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament by patellar tendon. He also practices hip resurfacing, for athletes who can return to their sport, often without restrictions, as well as the placement of hip prosthesis by direct anterior approach which allows recovery and a rapid return to activity. He also performs the fitting of knee prostheses which preserve the normal movement of the knee and allow in the majority of cases a return to sports activity.

He will be happy to meet you at our Center Berger clinic.

Hip replacement surgery in private practice

A first in eastern Quebec!

We are very proud to present the team that assisted Dr. François Morin, orthopedic surgeon at Lacroix, who performed the very first hip replacement surgery on April 3, 2023, in our operating room at the Berger Medical Center in Quebec. Thanks to a revolutionary new surgical technique using an anterior approach, Dr. Morin can perform this operation in one-day surgery mode. The operation was a great success and our patient returned home very happy, with a brand new hip that will allow him to resume his normal activities in the coming months.

Congratulations to the whole team!
