INTERNAL MEDICINE

Internal medicine department in a private clinic

COMPLEX CASE? YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE

The human body is remarkably complex. Despite all the scientific prowess of modern medicine, sometimes a patient complains of an ailment that no one can identify. Some diseases affect more than one organ or system at a time, or are related to another condition, thus confusing the issue.

Note that no medical prescription is required to make an appointment with our specialists.

PRIVATE LABORATORY ANALYSIS

Lacroix Medical Group’s network of clinics collaborates with several private laboratories for the analysis of specimens in order to allow companies or individuals to obtain results within 48 business hours following the sampling.

What is an internist?

Internal medicine is a medical specialty. Rather than focusing on a single organ or group of organs (system), it focuses on the internal organs as a whole. When a disease or condition affects several different systems simultaneously and the diagnosis would require several different medical specialists, an internist is the doctor to consult. This is why it is often referred to as the specialty for complex or rare cases. Thus, this type of physician may be called upon to diagnose autoimmune or systemic conditions, rare diseases, genetic diseases of all kinds, immunosuppression, polypathologies (increasingly common as we age), etc.
