The specialized nurse practitioner performs medical activities that allow him/her to prescribe diagnostic tests, medications and medical treatments, among other things. Holding a specialty certificate recognized by the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ), the SPN can diagnose diseases and perform preventive health assessments. In addition, the specialized nurse practitioner has the training and skills necessary to initiate treatments and perform certain invasive diagnostic techniques, such as gynecological examinations and digital rectal examinations.

Clinical Nurse for over 20 years, Carole has always worked in mental health and psychiatry. She has been involved in the creation of numerous psychiatric programs, including the shared care module aimed at supporting family physicians and the early psychotic episode program. Throughout her career, she has continued to pursue training to increase her knowledge and improve the care she provides to patients. In addition to her completed Bachelor’s degree at the University of Sherbrooke, she holds a certificate in psychology, a Graduate Diploma in mental health, a Master’s in Nursing Sciences in mental health and psychiatric care, and finally, she is among the very first nurses in Quebec to have obtained her Master’s as an Advanced Practice Nurse in mental health.
She primarily works with clients aged 16 and over, focusing mainly on anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, burnout, adjustment disorders, type 2 bipolar disorders, and stabilized psychotic disorders.
She has a particular interest in mental health disorders in pregnant and postpartum women, as well as in LGBTQ clientele.
She is able to provide bio-identical hormone therapy for women in the perimenopausal period. She can also offer evaluation and diagnostic services for ADHD, starting from the age of 8.
