Internal medicine department in a private clinic
COMPLEX CASE? YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE
COMPLEX CASE? YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE
The human body is remarkably complex. Despite all the scientific prowess of modern medicine, sometimes a patient complains of an ailment that no one can identify. Some diseases affect more than one organ or system at a time, or are related to another condition, thus confusing the issue.
Note that no medical prescription is required to make an appointment with our specialists.
PRIVATE LABORATORY ANALYSIS
Lacroix Medical Group’s network of clinics collaborates with several private laboratories for the analysis of specimens in order to allow companies or individuals to obtain results within 48 business hours following the sampling.
What is an internist?
Internal medicine is a medical specialty. Instead of focusing on a single organ or group of organs (system), it deals with the internal organs as a whole. When a disease or condition affects multiple different systems simultaneously, and the diagnosis would require various specialist doctors, an internist is the physician to consult. This is why it is often referred to as the specialty of complex or rare cases. Therefore, this type of physician may be called upon to diagnose autoimmune or systemic conditions, rare diseases, various genetic diseases, immunodeficiency, polypathologies (increasingly common as we age), and more.
Dr Andréanne Samson, internist
Dr. Samson earned her medical degree in 2010 and completed her specialized training in general internal medicine at Laval University in 2015. She worked at the regional affiliated university hospital center in Trois-Rivières from 2015 to 2022. Her medical practice is diverse, reflecting the versatility of an internist and focusing on the patient as a whole. She is, therefore, an excellent choice for managing various issues, including but not limited to diabetes, hypertension, coronary diseases, and handling more complex conditions that are either undiagnosed or refractory to first-line treatments. Dr. Samson has also served as an associate professor at the University of Montreal in the Mauricie campus. She has also been involved in research during her training and at the Trois-Rivières hospital center. By joining the Lacroix Medical Group, Dr. Samson aims to provide high-quality, accessible, and personalized care to each patient.
