An attentive and experienced


Passionate about his profession, Dr. Tremblay has more than 40 years’ experience and is a frequent guest speaker at medical conferences. He also participates in evaluating the quality of medical procedure in collaboration with the Collège des Médecins. Dr. Tremblay obtained his B.A. from Petit Séminiare de Quebec in 1959 and later graduated from Université Laval with a degree in philosophy (B.Ph.), science (D.Sc.), medicine (M.D.), and anthropology (Ph.D.). Dr. Tremblay continued his studies in endocrinology at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. In 1970, he began his clinical work and pivotal research at the CHUL de Québec on sex hormone metabolism.


At the same time, he obtained his certificate of specialized medical practice in endocrinology (CSPQ), in internal medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCP(C)), and from the American College of Physicians (FACP). Throughout his research, Dr. Tremblay has received funding from the Fonds de Recherche du Québec – Santé, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and from the Medical Research Council of Canada (MRC). He has published 225 papers and has given more than 500 scientific presentations at national and international conferences. He has held the title of emeritus professor at Université Laval for several years. Dr. Tremblay has been consistent in carrying out research and general practice activities in endocrinology with a particular focus on hormonal diseases, reproductive medicine, and acquired hypogonadism and andropause. He was also the founding president of the Canadian Society of Andropause in Geneva fifteen years ago. Over the past three years, he has contributed to implementing the Assisted Reproduction Program (ART) at the CHU de Québec and was Andrology Lab Director between 1972 and 2014. Since 2014, his research interests involve oxidative stress in human sperm cells. Dr. Tremblay offers general endocrinology services at our private clinic in Cap-Rouge.
